Xiaomi launched several products at a launch event that
took place in China today. One of the products that have been launched at the
event today is the Mi MIX Alpha. After getting the huge success of the Mi MIX 3
that launched last year. There are numerous key highlights of the Mi MIX Alpha
like the Surround Display.
As far as the
cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha on the rear packs with Samsung
HMX sensor 108-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.69 aperture and a pixel
size of 0.8-micron; a second 12-megapixel portrait camera with an f/2 aperture
and a pixel size of 1.4-micron and a third 20-megapixel wide-angle camera with
an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.0-micron. The rear camera setup has
autofocus.
Among other things, The Mi MIX Alpha is a 5G concept
smartphone from Xiaomi. The Mi MIX Alpha comes with Surround Display that
offers an immersive experience to the users. The screen of the Mi MIX Alpha
wraps around the phone. The Mi MIX Alpha is an all-glass phone. It includes
glass on the back and also on the front. The top and bottom edges of the Mi MIX
Alpha is made with a combination of titanium alloy, ceramics, and sapphire.
It is due to Surround Display the Mi Mix Alpha doesn't
include bezels on the sides. The Mi MIX Alpha includes a black strip on the
back panel that includes the cameras and the sensors. The black strip includes
a 108MP Samsung camera sensor. The sides of the Mi MIX Alpha are pressure
sensitive.
As far as the specs are concerned the Mi MIX Alpha comes
with a massive 7.92-inch flexible OLED screen that offers a screen resolution
of 2088x2250 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus
paired with 12GB of RAM. The device comes with a 4,050mah battery with 40W fast
charging support. On the software front, the Mi MIX Alpha runs MIUI Alpha
operating system.
Connectivity options on the
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, USB
Type-C, Wi-Fi Direct, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE
networks in India) with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone
include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, compass/ magnetometer,
gyroscope, proximity sensor, temperature sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha supports face unlock.
The
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha measures 154.38 x 72.30 x 10.40mm (height x width x
thickness) and weighs 241.00 grams. It was launched in China in Black color.
As for the pricing the Mi Mix Alpha concept device is
priced at CNY 19,999 (Expected price 1,99,990 Rs. In India). For now, there are
no words whether the Mi MIX Alpha will be in mass production anytime soon or
not. Xiaomi, however, has confirmed that it will produce a limited batch of Mi
MIX Alpha at the end of December this year but in India it will be expected in
2020.
